Doniphan, NE, September 21, 2023 - Twenty-seven students from the Doniphan Trumbull High School Agricultural Department recently attended the Husker Harvest Days farm show near Grand Island, Nebraska. This premier agricultural exhibition allowed students to enrich their agricultural education by interacting directly with the latest advancements in farm machinery and technology.

The group was able to attend two of the six informative demonstrations on topics like combine operation and see firsthand how modern farming equipment is used in the field. Students also had the opportunity to talk with sales representatives from a variety of agricultural companies to learn about new products and innovations.

A highlight of the trip was the chance for students to get inside the cabins of tractors, combines, and other equipment. This unique hands-on experience bridged the gap between classroom learning and seeing how these powerful machines actually operate.

"The Husker Harvest Days show provided an invaluable educational experience for our students," said Ag teacher Dave Johnson, advisor of the school's FFA chapter. "Being able to climb into the equipment helped make textbooks come alive for these young people who are interested in agricultural careers."

The Doniphan Trumbull FFA chapter is very thankful for all who made this enriching trip possible. Experiential learning opportunities like this are vital for the next generation of farmers, agricultural professionals, and others involved in Nebraska's largest industry.
